Product Tuning Program Notice
In brief: an invitation-only program in which participants share a short summary of each night, computed on their own device, plus how they used the app, so we can tune Dreamerie.
Does this apply to you?
Only if we invite you, you are 18 or older, you agree in the app, and you have a wearable or an app that records your sleep to Apple Health. Until then this program shares nothing from your device.
To take part, turn on Apple Health in Settings first.
Joining is by invitation only. You receive an invitation, you enter the invitation code in the app under Settings → Product Tuning, and the consent screen shows you this notice. Only when you agree does the app create a random identifier and start sharing anything.
It is small on purpose, and it is not open in the European Union or the United Kingdom, or in some other places, including some US states.
What is shared
A short summary of each night, computed on your device. With Health access on, the app uses your Apple Health data to determine, on your device and before anything is sent:
- How quickly you fell asleep in broad buckets: under 15 minutes, 15 to 30, 30 to 60, over 60 minutes
- Whether the audio stopped before you fell asleep, around then, later, or played the entire night
- How many times you woke after falling asleep: none, one or two, three or more
- Whether you settled back to sleep while audio was still playing
- How detailed that night's sleep data was: none, broad asleep and awake only, or full sleep stages
- How well heart-rate samples covered the night: unreliable, partial, or good, only if you also share raw readings
Sent with it: the start and end of that night's listening session, your device's time zone, whether a wearable was present, the app version, and a random session identifier that lines the summary up with what was playing.
At this level we do not share the readings themselves. No heart rates, no oxygen levels and no sleep-stage timeline go with the summary, and without Health access there is no summary. Sharing more takes a separate agreement in the app: the raw health data level has its own screen and its own notice, and joining Product Tuning does not turn it on. Our privacy policy lists everything Dreamerie collects.
Usage records. What played and when, session starts and ends, and technical details such as device model and iOS version.
Not the note you write on a flag. When you flag a show you can add a short note in your own words. It is not part of what you agree to here. It does not travel with your usage records and is never attached to your device identifier: it goes to us on its own anonymous path, the same one it takes for someone who has joined nothing. Our privacy policy says what is sent and how long the note is kept.
A random device identifier. Agreeing creates one on your device so we can group your data and delete it on request. It says nothing about who you are, you can see it under Settings → About, and the app records which version of this notice you agreed to.
What it is for
Choosing which shows we keep and recommend for sleep, setting defaults such as the Auto sleep timer, and fixing nights where playback failed.
This is not medical research and not a clinical trial. We are not studying you, testing a treatment, or producing findings about health. We are tuning a consumer app. Your data is never used for advertising and is never sold.
Where it goes, and for how long
Uploads go to our server, hosted in the United States by Railway, our processor under an executed data processing agreement. Forge8 LLC, a US company, is the data controller. No one else receives your data, and we will never sell it.
Usage records are kept for 90 days, nightly summaries until you leave or the program ends. After 12 months without contact from your device, everything it sent is erased, including the identifier. Our backups are kept 6 days, so deletions clear them within 6 days.
Leaving the program
Settings → Product Tuning → Leave Product Tuning, at any time, no questions asked. That stops future uploads and deletes the data we hold. You can also email us.
If you also agreed to share your raw health data, that level has its own off switch: Settings → Raw overnight readings → Turn off and delete the readings. It turns off that level and deletes the readings we hold, and leaves the rest of your participation in place.
Settings → Clear all my data goes further: it erases everything on your device, deletes your server data, and retires your device identifier so future use cannot be connected to past use. If your device is offline, the app finishes the deletion the next time it connects, keeping your old identifier for that alone and for at most 30 days. Deleting the app retires your identifier the next time Dreamerie runs on this device. Anything an opt-in program holds for it is erased then, or after 12 months of inactivity, whichever comes first. To erase it right away, use Clear all my data before deleting the app.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, for it in a portable format, or to correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or stop processing it altogether. Email privacy@dreamerie.app with the Device ID from Settings → About, and we will answer within 15 days.
If we refuse, reply to our response to appeal and we will answer within 30 days. If we deny the appeal and you live in Washington State, you can raise it with the Washington Attorney General at atg.wa.gov. Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy sets out the rights the My Health My Data Act gives you.
Want to be considered?
Write to us at privacy@dreamerie.app. Asking is not joining: nothing changes in your app unless we invite you and you agree. We cannot accept everyone, and if we do not accept you we delete what you sent within 30 days.
Changes
If this notice changes in a material way, we will raise this notice's version number and ask for your consent again before anything more is shared. The raw health data level has its own notice with its own version number, and the same promise applies to it on its own.
